HealthCare Comp was founded on a simple belief: workers' compensation professionals deserve a single, accountable partner who cares as much about the outcome as they do.
HealthCare Comp was built from the ground up to serve a specific problem: workers' compensation adjusters and case managers were spending enormous amounts of time coordinating multiple vendors, chasing documentation, and managing providers across different service lines — time that should be spent on claims decisions and claimant care.
Our founding team brought together decades of experience in DME, home health, and complex care — specifically within the workers' compensation industry. We knew what adjusters needed, what case managers were missing, and what it meant to have a real relationship with a vendor who was accountable, responsive, and genuinely invested in outcomes.
Today, HealthCare Comp operates as a true single-source partner for workers' comp professionals nationwide. Our model is simple: one referral, one coordinator, every service managed from intake to recovery. We are headquartered in Longwood, FL, and our provider networks reach all 50 states.
"We're real people, providing you a real solution to improve your patients' quality of life. You can count on us — because We Care More."
— The HealthCare Comp Team
This is our founding principle — not a slogan. Every coordinator is selected for their commitment to going beyond the minimum to ensure injured workers get what they need and adjusters get what they expect.
We own the outcome of every referral we accept. If something isn't right, we fix it. You shouldn't have to track down your vendor — your coordinator reaches out to you.
Workers' comp claims move fast. We match that pace while maintaining the quality and accuracy that protects you and the claimant. Speed and quality are not trade-offs.
We understand that every dollar in a claim matters. We identify the most cost-effective solution for every situation — and we document what we save so you can see the value.
Every coordinator at HealthCare Comp is hand-selected for their expertise, communication skills, and genuine commitment to improving outcomes for injured workers.

Your dedicated point of contact from referral to resolution. Each coordinator specializes in workers' compensation ancillary services and is equipped to manage any service type or complexity.

90+ years of combined experience in the medical equipment industry. Whether it's a standard walker or a complex custom power wheelchair, our specialists know exactly what's needed.

Holding the highest certification in home accessibility and modification, our assessors deliver thorough Residential Risk Assessments with written reports and photos — adjuster-ready documentation every time.
HealthCare Comp was built by people who lived the problem firsthand — and refused to accept that workers' comp professionals deserved anything less than a true partner.
Scott's career in healthcare began in 1987 in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Surgical Technician. Following his military service, he broadened his clinical foundation as a Medical Supply Technician and Polysomnograph Technician before relocating to Florida to be closer to family.
It was there that Scott found his calling in workers' compensation, joining one of the pioneering Ancillary Provider Networks in the industry and rising to Director of Operations. He then became the first employee at an emerging ancillary network, where he designed and implemented the systems and infrastructure that laid the foundation for a company that today employs more than 30 people.
In 2011, he was asked to play an integral role in founding HealthMed Solutions, further deepening his expertise in building ancillary service organizations from the ground up.
In January 2020, drawing on more than three decades in the workers' compensation industry, Scott co-founded HealthCare Comp with Carlos Bertizlian — recognizing an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for injured workers and the professionals who serve them. Every relationship built along the way informs how the company operates today: nationally capable, personally accountable.
Carlos's career is built on a uniquely powerful combination of disciplines: an Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management, a background in Electrical Engineering, and Lean Six Sigma expertise developed over his years at Westinghouse and Siemens. That technical and analytical foundation underpins everything he builds.
Carlos's workers' compensation career began in the 1990s, when he was integral in building a workers' compensation transportation company from the ground up — his first of several ventures serving the injured worker market. In 2016, he joined the ancillary services side of the industry and quickly became central to the organization's strategic growth, leading client account management, driving business development, and taking direct ownership of the company's financial goals and objectives.
Today, with more than 30 years of experience spanning workers' compensation, finance, engineering, and healthcare, Carlos oversees HealthCare Comp's financial strategy while personally leading business development day to day — cultivating the client relationships and the national and international alliances that fuel the company's expansion.
In January 2020, Carlos co-founded HealthCare Comp with Scott Guimond — translating their shared vision into a company that puts injured workers, and the people who serve them, first. Every partnership built along the way reflects the same commitment: precision in the numbers, care in the relationships.
